Lovely old village style hotel. Loved all the hanging baskets and window boxes which were beautifully kept. Excellent food. Excellent service. All of the staff were very friendly and professional and made us feel very welcome. The fairly new Manager Craig and wife Gillian are doing a fantastic job. Would definately stay there again and already recommended this hotel to friends.

Friendly staff, comfortable room, hugepowerful shower, good location for visiting local attractiions

Just some minor details as overall we enjoyed our stay and would certainly return to the Kiing's Head: Breakfast was alright - usual full english - but the sausages were disappointing (Masham sausages are famous), the poached eggs were delicious but they hadn't been dried before putting them on the plate so everything else got a bit wet and half a fresh tomato would be better than a tinned one. The tea and coffee were more budget hotel - put your own teabag in a mug or open a sachet of instant coffee - than I would expect from a hotel of this type. The bed was huge but a bit firm (in my opinion) and the room would benefit from a second chair

The location as we were attending a family 21st at the Black Sheep Brewery. Very friendly place.

I have stayed at the Kings many times over the last 30 years mostly on business, but now semi retired the last few visits have been purley pleasure short/break. The central location between Leyburn.Thirsk. Rippon etc makes it ideal base.

Nothing, it's a great old building, the odd un-even floor etc. just adds to the charm

Perfect location as attending a function close by. Warm glowing real fire in bar area and friendly bar staff. Reception very attentive and dealt with the problem room quickly.

The room was very cold and no heating working in the bathroom so asked to be moved, which I was, to a nicer room. Reception did indicate there had been problems in that room regarding the heating. Facilities listed a hair dryer and iron. First room had an iron but neither had a hairdryer which was a little irritating.

Location. Quiet. Clean. Value for money. Good grub. Friendly bar staff. Friendly owner. BIG bed in Coachhouse room.

As usual a comfortable, welcoming hotel with just that little extra. Having visited on previous occasions it would be fair to say that the standards have not dropped, indeed the new decor in the bar is more in keeping and it's good that the problem with the smoking open fire has been rectified. The (bar) food we had was of excellent standard and presentation as always. Good to see both local breweries on tap and more importantly served in good condition, ie kept well with clean lines.

Uncomfortable chairs in bedroom, lack of shelving / hooks in bathroom and no drawer space available apart from wardrobe/cupboard with an odd smell.

Bang in the centre of Masham.Staff very helpful and pleasant. The light breakfast is a good idea.Good "pub" as opposed to clinical hotel bar. Very reasonable prices in bar for food/drink.

    Cant think of anything

Attractive and comfortable bed and bathroom looking on to the market square

Having to make our own coffee from sachets in the dining room despite having paid for a full English breakfast. (There was apparently only one caffetiere available!)

What a wonderful stay we had - just one night for a birthday treat for my other half but felt like we'd been away for a long weekend it was so relaxing. The rooms are lovely - it's so refreshing to stay somewhere where every room isn't just an identical box. The room was unique, quirky and quite luxurious. Really different and just what I was hoping it would be. We we purely to relax & switch off and were able to do just that. We had a drink at two of the other pubs in the village before returning for an evening meal at the Kings Head which was delicious and reasonably priced. All in all a perfect night away and my other half was over the moon. We are already arranging a return visit with family and friends.

If I had to be picky, the ceiling fan was a little noisy as it was a very warm night, but that's being really picky.

Able to park right outside hotel. Staff friendly. Bedroom ample size. Very comfortable bed. Bath as well as shower. Clean. Wonderfully quiet! Just what we like. Masham is a quaint little town.

Could do with biscuits to go with the early morning cuppa. Extra pillows discovered in wardrobe but without covers. View from window a bit grotty. Also as on an internally corner it looked straight into another window - not very private. No doubt other rooms had better view overlooking the town square.
